Tailoring BristolWhen one thinks of tailoring as a career we imagine little old ladies in spectacles adorning skirts that make a swishing sound as they walk, it was therefore no surprise to me that when I embarked on a recent stint of work experience with
Tailoring Bristol that the manager was a carbon-copy of my earlier description. Terrifying in her demeanour, brandishing scissors and a tape-measure she ushered me onto the premises and began to explain the ethos of
Tailoring Bristol and my duties for the week. Precision and detail were emphasised from the outset and this was before we had even left the kitchen having been shown the refreshment making facilities.
Tailoring Bristol specialises in clothes for the elderly but refined customer so a steady stream of Beryls, Franks and Margarets crossed the threshold each day with tales of yesteryear to entertain. Meanwhile I managed to perfect the art of tea and have enhanced my knowledge of herb growing and the increasing cost of ginger thins. Am I destined to become a tailor? I`d say that it`s probably best left to the experts! However, with my new found knowledge of herbs I am off on a work experience jaunt to the local garden centre next week where perhaps I will find my true vocation amongst the tomato plants, begonias and?.. my new fiancé Frank who will also be my boss for the week.
